Sending Church Prayer Wall
Rob and Cynthi Law

On Saturday, April 10, 2009, following the Good Friday tornadoes that hit Murfreesboro, a group from my company went to to help with the cleanup efforts. We helped one gentleman clean up his belongings from the aftermath. The front of his house looked fine, but as we walked around to the back of the “home,” the sides and back were gone. The first thing I noticed was his big screen TV. It looked like mine, except on second glance it had a big hole through it. As the day progressed, our group helped him pick up his belongings that he had collected over the past 20 years. They were destroyed. Gone in an instant. The gentleman’s spirit was incredible. He told me, “This is just stuff. My people are OK and that’s all that mattered.” Right then and there I realized there was more to life than chasing after the newest and latest and greatest. That exercise is all for naught. We need to be working on something that is lasting. Doing the Lord’s work.

Since that time the Lord has shown me to sell everything and work for Him. On May 30, I sold my Lincoln Navigator. On October 17 I sold my Titans PSLs. We’re working towards selling it all: the cars, our home, and the “stuff” to be more mobile for Him.

God continues to use His Word to encourage us. [Rob] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21. [Cynthi] “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10.

LifePoint Church is amazing. To think that we have a team pulling for us and praying for us to be successful for God. To make Jesus famous. It is truly humbling.
